I've given up on finding my lost uncle due to the totally incomprehensible map I had of his supposed location. I retired my pirate in Florida Keyes at the age of 42 and in failing health and took up the position of mayor. As I completed 99% of the other quests in the game I'm happy to call this game complete. Time was running out for me anyway as the game would have forced me to retire anyway the next time I docked somewhere to divide the plunder.
I can now fully concentrate on World of Warcraft *if* they ever get the account sign-up page up and running.
